We provide Sizing Charts on each of our product pages - Dress & Cape Size Chart and Communion Dress Size Chart. When ordering, go with the measurements that are closest to your child's measurements and choose the Age. We design all our pieces with longevity in mind. A quick measure with a measuring tape will be suffice.

Sleeves - Our pieces are designed to allow up to an extra two years of wear. We have designed long sleeves with double cuffs (which can be rolled down for extra sleeve length).

Main body - Our dresses are loosely constructed to allow for little girls to grow.

Length - our dresses are slightly longer in length but can be worn at a slightly shorter length with tights and knee-high socks.

We are happy to accept returns and offer a 14 day refund with no quibbles.

We currently offer a full standard and express national delivery service with An Post.  We use DHL for our express shipping to the UK & USA and offer International shipping to the rest of the world.

An Post deliveries take place from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.00pm. An Post do not deliver on a Saturday or Sunday. During Bank holiday periods please allow an extra day for Standard Delivery.Working days are Monday to Friday and exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Good Friday and Bank or Public Holidays.A signature maybe required upon receipt of your item(s) to ensure safe delivery.A P.O. Box is an insufficient address, we require a signature.Please place your order before 12.30pm in order to ensure next day delivery.

Upon dispatch you will receive a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your package. Sometimes, delivery may be slower resulting from postal/courier delays for which we will not be responsible. If your parcel is delayed, we can assist you via email, message or over the phone. 

Any dispatch delays, such as out of stock, we will notify you via email.

Unfortunately, our "Darcy Day Out" venue appointments are on hold with Covid restrictions. But fear not while we can't go to meet you we are still able to accommodate you with a COMPLIMENTARY Virtual Dress Up Styling Appointments - available every Saturday.  If you would prefer another day or time please feel free to email triona@darcybow.ie to make your appointment.

It's really easy to make an Appointment

1. Click on Appointments on our Main Menu on our home page.

2. It will take you to our Appointment page and you just click the Appointment Button.

3. You will see a Location Page with a couple of options. Please select - COMPLIMENTARY Virtual Dress Up Appointment option and press continue.

4. Select Services - Please select - COMPLIMENTARY Virtual Dress Up Appointment option and press continue.

5. Day & Time - Select a Saturday and a time and press continue.

6. Enter your Details - Please enter some personal details. It will ask for your Daughter's Name & School too and press the book button.

7. A confirmation email will be sent to you. Should you find you have selected an incorrect date or time, don't worry just cancel and rebook.

8. If you have a few questions you would like to ask us before booking your appointment please fill out our "Dress Up Day Enquiry Form" on our home page and we'd be happy to answer your questions. (Scroll down our home page).

You have an upcoming Special Occassion and want to be organised but don't have an exact date.

Don't worry, this is very common, we have a lot of customers who order their dresses with us without a date. We are happy to secure your style of dress and hold off on production until closer to the time of your Special Occasion.

So if you have no date, no problem!

Afraid to order your dress in advance in case she grows? Don't worry! This is another common question we get.

When placing a dress order, we work off your daughter's current measurements and will factor in growth spurts and style of the dress for fit.

Communions - generally take place in April/May/June. A lot of customers order dresses as early as October or when they get their date. In those cases we secure the dress style and book a production slot and come back for a final measurement. We will contact you and talk you through the simple measurement process.

Our dresses are designed so they are easily adjusted on the bodice with generous seem allowances. The length is slightly longer and can be altered if you choose a shorter length.

Our dresses are not mass produced. They are designed and made here in Ireland. We keep a record of all our little customers school names and dates in order to offer an exclusive - One Dress Per School policy. It often is the case that friends choose the same dress and in circumstances like this we try to offer alternative options to make each little girl and dress as special as we can.

Our dresses are designed with little girls in mind. We take careful consideration with every piece we design from fabric, fit, finish and trim. As two Mums we understand that children take growth spurts so we have factored that into our designs.

All our Once in a Lifetime dresses are designed so they are easily adjusted on the bodice with generous seem allowances. The length is slightly longer and can be altered if you choose a shorter length. Our trims can be easily removed for shortening and reapplied.

Our dresses are made to a standard size and can be easily altered. Should you wish to take in/let out or to shorten your dress please take them to a reputable Alterations business.
