About Our Dresses

Communion 2021 season in Ireland is fast approaching and we have been very busy with our online Virtual Styling Appointments. Our customers are booking their Communion dresses with the hope that Communions will go ahead before we break for Summer holidays.

Our “Once in a Lifetime” collection of Communion dresses is 100% designed and handmade in Ireland. To us every little girl is unique and magical and deserves a First Holy Communion dress as special as she is, rather than mass-produced and unsustainable fast fashion.

Darcybow’s limited edition collections are lovingly handmade for our little girls who wear them. We partner with independent, women-owned ateliers to produce luxury communion dresses and all of our dresses are handmade in Ireland using time-honoured heritage sewing and construction techniques so that every finished piece is easy to care for and made to last.

Uncertainty with Communion dates has caused a lot of concern as to when to book your dress. We are blessed to work so closely with our production team here in Dublin, and to alleviate this concern we are adding extra length to all our dresses and leaving them un-hemmed until our customers have a confirmed date. Our dresses are made to a standard size and are designed with growth and little girls in mind.

Last year, due to Communion dates being pushed out to the cooler months of the year, we had a number of enquiries for our capes. Should Communions be pushed out till Autumn/Winter, we will have you covered with a wonderful collection of capes. We have expanded our outerwear collection to include capes (short and long), cardigans (white, ivory and cream), fur wraps and boleros – coming soon.

We have expanded our shoe collection with classic shoes styles which are all handmade in Spain. We have included a beautiful range of soft gold, pearlised ivory and white first communion shoes to complement our dresses for Communion, Weddings and Special Occasions.

We work closely with Sam from www.prettybowtique.ie, who designs and makes headpieces for little girls Communions, Weddings and Special Occasions.

We pack all our dresses in a beautiful plush pink gift box with a ribbon closure.  The box will keep your dress protected so that in years to come you can take it out and admire it and you can pass it on to the next generation.
